adidas is committed to sustainability and, through intelligent recycling of plastic waste, has managed to give classic models such as "Stan Smith", "Superstar" and the retro model Continental 80 a new touch – in terms of design and material. These trainers are available in sustainable and vegan versions. This is how the sportswear manufacturer from Herzogenaurach wants to reduce the consumption of new materials – for better environmental protection. The upper material of the trainers is made of 70 percent reusable materials, and in the eco version of the adidas Continental 80, the laces are made of paper and the soles are created from a mixture of natural and recycled rubber. The slogan "This shoe alone will not save the planet" can be found on some models as a lettering. All adidas Continental 80 sneakers are made of leather. This comes from environmentally conscious leather manufacturers who have been tested and certified by the Leather Working Group's requirements protocol. The audited tannery received the "Silver" award.
