Sportswear for girls: it's time to get outside!
It's essential to encourage kids in physical endeavours – so make sure your daughter has the right sportswear for girls! PE lessons are one thing, but it's a good idea to work together and find a sport that your daughter can be passionate about. If you're not yet sure what that is, start with the basics. Most essentially, she'll need a good pair of sports shoes. You might want to buy half a size larger than usual, as feet can swell slightly during exercise. Young girls will benefit from Velcro-fastening trainers, but once your daughter can manage laces on her own, you can upgrade. Look for tracksuits, too. Comfortable and easy to put on and take off, they are a great starting point that can be worn for a range of different sports.
Girls' athletic wear to inspire a love of sports
If your daughter isn't a keen athlete yet, choose fun sportswear for girls to inspire her. Your little girl's sports apparel will be a lot more appealing if it's in her favourite colour, or comes with fun prints and decals. Bright, funky sports shirts will make your daughter feel excited about going outside. Choose a size that's slim-fitting without being too tight; big, baggy shirts can be difficult to run around in, and will get in the way if she's trying something like gymnastics or kids' yoga. Jumpers and sweatshirts are also essential, particularly if you live in a cold climate. You may not need technical fabrics yet, but consider a cosy, fleece-lined hoodie for winter.
Choosing specialist sports clothing
Some sportswear for girls is more specific, designed with particular sports in mind. If you're taking your daughter to hit the slopes, look for sports jackets that are designed for skiing or snowboarding. These should have lots of special features, including zipped pockets, waterproof fabric, and carefully sealed seams. A regular jacket won't work here! Winter sports enthusiasts should also look for the right sports accessories, including cosy hats, gloves, and sunglasses. Does your daughter want to try horse riding? Look for special sports trousers. Jeans can be uncomfortable, as the seams will dig into her inner legs. It's usually a good idea to experiment with these sports before buying specialist gear, though. Make sure your daughter likes the sport first!
