British roots on a global scale
After graduating from Manchester University with an MSc in International Fashion Retailing, Kim Jin noticed a gap in the market. At the time, independent retailers were selling expensive brands with long lead times, so she focussed on making more wallet-friendly women’s wear at much lower prices – fast. Launched in 2007, GLAMOROUS expanded quickly in their first six months, moving from only selling through small retailers to supplying the big players on the market. Although you can find GLAMOROUS in over 30 countries, the design team and head office remain true to their Manchester roots. Despite their success, they’ve only moved two streets from their first premises. They release 7,000 new pieces every year; from jumpers & knitwear to jackets and jeans, you’re sure to find something that makes you feel invincible.
How to stay GLAMOROUS
This is the brand for making an impression, but you don’t have to stand out from the crowd if you don’t want to. Sometimes, it’s the subtlest nods that work the best, so start with one of their block colour or delicately patterned dresses, then pair it with the shoes that suit your day.
