NIKE Air Vapormax – futuristic sneakers with air cushions
With the NIKE Air Vapormax, the lightest and most flexible Air Max of all times came onto the market in 2017 – with a transparent outsole made completely of Air Sole elements. The most striking feature of these shoes is the Air Sole element that sits in the sole under the heel. Already in 1978 the NIKE Air Technology was installed in the NIKE Tailwind. Runners could feel this attenuation but could not see it. That's why chief designer Tinker Hatfield set out to make NIKE Air technology visible: The vision of Visible Air. With the NIKE Vapormax and its sister models NIKE Air Vapormax 360 and NIKE Air Vapormax Flyknit you have the most futuristic shoes on the market today. The Air unit, which covers the entire sole, offers you the lightest and most responsive cushioning in a sports shoe. As the most exceptional Air models in terms of silhouette and design, NIKE Air Vapormax in mesh and Flyknit are already real legends.
The different NIKE-Air-Vapormax models
The NIKE Air Vapormax Flyknit-Edition was presented only a few months after the introduction of the Vapormax and offers you a particularly light and breathable wearing comfort. The upper material encloses your feet like a sock for extra comfort. This model features synthetic heel support for optimum support and a cloud-like feel. The NIKE Air Vapormax 360 was inspired by traditional running shoes like the 2006 Air Max 360 and convinces with its lighter, flexible design. The elongated foam midsole offers maximum comfort and the striking colours give the sneaker a fresh, modern look. The Vapormax Air element ensures optimum cushioning with low weight here as well. The thick, padded shoe collar provides a soft feel and allows a comfortable fit around the ankle. The retro details are exciting: the reworked, lightweight TPU frame encloses the heel and the Air element as a tribute to the classic Air Max 360. The quick lacing system and the welded synthetic covers on the upper material are reminiscent of the innovative sneaker. You get the already eye-catching Air Max Vapormax models with bright colour accents in orange or a little more reserved in white, black or grey.
The Air-Max-Story from NIKE
When the Air-Max technology was invented, it was an innovation that the runners could feel and see this damping. David Forland, who has been part of the NIKE team since 1985 and is now regarded as an expert in the field of Visible Air, played a major role in this. The aim is to get even more air into the sole to reduce the amount of foam. In the past decades countless Air Max versions have been created. The NIKE Air Vapormax is probably one of the most eccentric models of the Air Max family.
